Marmot-Back Crack

The first half of the route follows a straight-in crack and the upper portion follows a large right-facing corner.  The first pitch belay is about two-thirds up the route; belay at a tree about half way up the right-facing corner.  A second, shorter pitch leads to the top.  Walk off, around the southeast side of Marmot Dome and back to the road.

This route was climbed and named in August of 2010 by George Ridgley and Bryan Law.  Based on how easy and obvious the line is, we assume that it was previously climbed in the past, probably by the “old dads” BITD.  Thus, the FA is listed as “Unknown.”

Marmot-Back Crack is the prominent right-leaning crack and corner system at the far-left edge of Razor Back that separates Razor Back from Marmot Dome.  The crack begins at the high point of the base.  See descriptive photo.
