Slab of the Greencoats

FA TR Sharon + Ken Roberts

Description

No positive holds in the lower half, so needs thoughtful placement (and trusting) of feet.

If that's not what you like (or feel you need to practice), this route is not for you. If that is what you want, then it's not big enough.

Find your own "path of least resistance" up the slab. Or for more footwork challenge, try the direct line - (more like 5.6?)

. . . ? name of route ? The uniforms of the New Jersey Volunteers uniform were green with white trim [ photo1 | . . . . . photo2 ].

warning: The rock on and around this route has not been climbed much yet, and much of the rock is still breakable and loose -- so the belayer and other people should stand far away from underneath the climber.

. . . (Lots of vegetation on this rock as of 2016. Be prepared when climbing to navigate around protruding trees and branches, and dealing with holds slippery with grass, lichen, moss, dirt).

Location

Cleaner gentler slab at the right end of the Jersey Vols sector. Just right of a dark wet streak.

Center + Right side

Protection

Top-Roping: Straightforward to set up top anchor with static line. Hike+scramble around the right side to reach the top.

Protection for Trad leading is unknown and likely inadequate.
