Description
This extension of
School of Rök
(11b, 70 feet) tackles the massive roof on the left side of the Bauhaus. From the anchor at 70 feet, climb easily up and left to beneath the intimidating roof. Negotiate a horizontal section, then finesse a series of hanging dihedrals through fantastic geometry as the pump - in forearms and calves - slowly builds.
Protection
This has 25 bolts total to a two-bolt anchor at 130 feet (40 meters). Plentiful bolts make the roof relatively easy to work, though climbers will undoubtedly skip some clips on the redpoint. Many long draws come are useful for reducing drag. Two ropes were used on the first ascent to eliminate drag from draws on
School of Rök
.
An 80 meter rope is required to lower from the anchor!*
A 70 meter rope will get you to the ground from a few bolts below the anchor (easily down-aided).
