Venus Caves

If you follow the 'Short Cut' trail left from the top of the long wooden stairs that lead up to the Armed and Dangerous area of the Main cliff, traversing the hillside and then up like you were heading to Bonsai, just where the trail turns sharply left to above Monsters, if you turned right instead (towards the Venus Wall), just above the path there is an overhanging ledge of highly featured rock, with a couple steep caves. The rock is covered with positive holds and big pockets and has the potential to be a super fun area for steep jug hauling. Classic lines have been climbed over the years, but none recorded yet. It is still a very raw area so doesn't get the attention it deserves. To get the most out of the area, expect to spend time with your scraper and brushes and maybe a hammer to rub over the fish hook spines on the pockets.
