Description
The summit of The Castle is most easily reached from a variety of short routes on the SE aspect of the mountain. From the small meadow/bench at ~6,200 ft, scramble to the base of the steeper climbing, and pick a line; options further east seem to be easier. The summit Pinnacle has room for several people to safely hang out, and there are slings for a short rappel to the base.
Location
SE face route(s) are located above the small meadow/bench on the SE aspect of The Castle. The easiest approach is from Pinnacle-Plummer saddle to the west, following a user trail below the S. face of Pinnacle peak, and then either scrambling directly up and over the small ridge, or dropping around it to the south.
Protection
A small rack with a few pieces of protection in the finger to hand size will be sufficient. Slings at top for anchor and rappel.
