Description

The lowest exposed rock of the Grand Teton: Crack in the Track is an avalanche scrubbed pitch of high difficulty. More Extreme difficulty awaits on the extension. A strong climb to practice very difficult movements in a high ambience environment.  A V6 boulder at the start is followed by 5.11+ to reach the crack. 2 distinct cruxes in the sustained crack to reach the lower off 8a. Extension above is unsent.

Do not climb here when there is risk of the Grand Teton avalanching full track.

Location

North fork Garnet Canyon above the Meadows, west of Spalding Falls, in the avalanche path of the Grand Teton. West face of Y Slab.

Protection

Very good protection but a locking carabiner and stick would make it even better.
