While you could climb the original 1971 route it's almost a disgrace to bypass this beautiful dihedral/crack climb.  Located a few yards west of the original scramble this new line boasts wonderful rock, solid gear placements and unique movement at its top crux.  Nuts and a few smaller cams are useful to protect the crux.  

From the base of Coconino if coming down Shoshone Point walk directly to Newtons south point on its eastern side.  The route is not visible until you hike a few yards past the start.  Allow 2.5 to 6 hours to reach if unfamiliar with Canyon approaches.

We had a double rack, nuts and single #4 and #5. Two Ropes needed for rap. Rappel the route off large pine.
