Hangar Shadow

Description

This line is possibly on the best best rock yet found in the Jungle.  The tuff feels like Tuolumme Granite and would have four stars if it were only longer.  When warm temps are baking the Air Strip, this line will most certainly be cool and shady.  It lies in a two meter wide slot and faces east.  Getting into this slot between the hangars might be the crux of the entire adventure, however, there are many excellent new routes very nearby making the talus navigation well worth the effort.

The Hangar Shadow line starts on the right of the wall and moves left to center before then moving back right up above.

Location

Follow the directions of the Air Strip's main page as well as these details.  Starting from behind the Shangri La campsite, take the cairned trail southwest to the edge.  Walk north a 100 meters to the well marked fixed line decent.  Follow the cairns and pseudo trail to a fir tree on a hump in the middle of the talus.  From here, zig zag up and south east to the hanging wall and obvious ledge.  Move south into the coolness of the slot passing good lines on your left such as "Mind the Gap".  The Shadow Hangar climb is obvious for its quality of rock.

Protection

Five bolts to a two bolt anchor.
