Lightning Crack
Description
This is a nice quick easy warm up and a good problem for first time outdoor climbers. Easy moves up the crack. The crux is probably underclining the flake but it's a pretty simple move. Use the features to the left of the crack and then focus on the flake on the second half of the lightning bolt shaped crack.
Location
Follow the climbers trail to the Whiskey Crack and blue paintings on the wall near the Grand Traverse. Continue straight past between the two routes. You should see a lightning-bolt shaped crack to the right of a straight crack where the Vulture-View ledge ends. Send that lightning bolt. The route starts on a two hand ledge to the left of the crack at standing level. The route finishes at the top of the flake. The best way to come down is to shuffle along the boulder about ten feet to the right and slide down. There should be little crimp-rails along the way down. The easiest way off is to hop down from the small ledge onto a rock below, be careful coming down!
Protection
No pro, just a couple boulder pads.
