Gaius Baltower - Number Eight

Cause who doesn't wanna climb a crumbling, silty, dark, cold and runout offwidth to endless chimney in order to summit a tower made of Styrofoam ?

Pitch 1: Start on the left side of the formation to gain a ledge, traverse right over loose rock and clip a bolt, then climb up through a short, crumbling offwidth roof followed by a short section of sixes to a ledge. 60', 5.10

Pitch 2: Strenuous, extremely silty offwidth to arduous tight squeeze followed by 80' of sparsely protected undulating chimney 115', 5.11

Pitch 3: Lower from Pitch 2 anchor approximately 15' and stem over to the Gaius Baltower. Pull through four bolts to 5.7 face climbing to the summit mantle. 5.7 A0, 30'

Rap route the way you came up with one 70 meter rope.

Tower is located at the far right of the Galactic Wall... easily visible from in between Maverick Buttress and the fallen pillar. Located on the south aspect of the tower. Start on the left side of a chossy ledge. A bolt on the ledge/face above will give away the route location.

Pitch 1: 1x Alpine draw, a couple small hand size pieces, 1x #3, 1x #6

Pitch 2: 2x Sixes, 1x Seven, 1x Eight and/or 2x Blue Big Bros and 1-2 Gold Big Bros, 4x Alpine draws

Pitch 3: 4x Alpine draws
